The pandemic caused by Covid-19 in the first months of 2020 has upset people’s life patterns, subjecting them to strong changes, in the economic and working sectors, due to the consequences of the lockdown and the measures to contain the spread of the disease.

Italy is one of the most affected nations in Europe and in the world, in fact the infected infected are about 238,159 confirmed and about 34,514 dead, it has had to face a health crisis with serious shortages of health professionals and supplies of protective equipment, applying new organizational models and rapidly transforming hospitals.

The number of infected people from April 28 has undergone a continuous increase, so as to arrive at June 22 with a total of 29,282 positive health workers, and of these 14,000 are nurses.

The Italian National Health System was already in deep crisis before the pandemic emergency from COVID-19, especially due to the lack of staff to devote to assistance, it was subjected to a test of strength that it overcame thanks to the will, professionalism and work of the human resources that compose it.

Health professionals, nurses, doctors, social and health personnel, for weeks have been at the center of public opinion, at times even elevated to “heroes” as they are at the forefront of the health emergency that has engulfed the country.
